I launched The Desk Dragon in October 2019, but at the time, the brand had nothing to do with fantasy art, stationery, or even calligraphy. Instead, I designed this website to house my freelance writing, editing, and virtual assistance services. Over the years, I branched out into podcast management, thought leadership ghostwriting, and other subsets of content marketing. It wasn’t until early 2024 that I added modern calligraphy and hand lettering to my business offerings.
In February 2025, I opened The Desk Dragon shop on Etsy, selling calligraphy-inspired stickers, stationery, and wall art. While that foundation remains a core inspiration for The Desk Dragon as a brand, my art style and focus have continued to evolve. You might find less of an emphasis on calligraphy here now, but a love for the (hand)written word is still woven into everything I create.

Here, at The Desk Dragon, I make fantasy-infused art and stationery products to spark whimsy, self-compassion, and creative expression. Meet The Artist
Hi! I’m Kristine, a writer, artist, and multipassionate creative. From teaching ESL in central China to starting up my own art and stationery brand, my career has taken me across the globe (and back!) and through a range of professional roles. Through it all, I have been driven by a love for creative expression in all its many forms.
I am an avid fantasy reader, mystery lover, bullet journaler, cat mom, and K-drama fan. I have played the piano (casually) for almost as long as I can remember. My beverage of choice is coffee, except when it’s tea. I like my wristwatch like I like my memory-keeping — analog. And yes, you can pry my em dashes and Oxford commas out of my cold, dead hands.
